Does 100% Polyester Shrink?

Hii everyone, this time I am going to tell you all about the topic which is in trend these days and it is does 100% polyester shrink? Most commonly everyone knows what polyester is. It is a type of fabric used for soft and comfortable bedding. There are various advantages of polyester. It is hypoallergenic and it is a huge asset and protection in bedding material for those who suffer from any kind of skin-related allergies, it is also wrinkle resistant.





Polyester-made clothing is also easy to care for and keep looking fresh in our busy lifestyle where we do not have proper time for maintaining its cleanliness and people are looking for products that can be kept nice looking without a lot of effort and time as well.

Now the question arises, does 100% polyester shrink?

Normally, today many people are confused with the query that does 100% polyester shrink? Well, polyester is shrink resistant but in some situations, it can shrink.

The circumstances which cause the polyester shrinkage are as follows:

  • Washing the polyester fabric in hot water.
  •  Using hard and harsh detergents.
  •  Drying it with a high heat dryer.
  •  Ironing it at a high temperature.

 How to protect your polyester fabric from shrinkage :



  •  Firstly, read the washing instructions properly on your polyester clothes label.
  •  Set the clothes washer on a normal cycle, use cold water, and do not use harsh detergent.
  • The polyester fabric dries very fast, therefore hang it in shade.
  • If you want to iron it, set the iron at a low temperature and protect it from high heat to avoid shrinkage.
